Destinations, platform options and articles
Pick where a post goes inside an account, set a platform's own options, and write articles.
Some platforms need more than a caption:
- Destinations. A post goes to one channel, community or list inside the account. Some platforms list them for you; for others you type one (a channel username, say) and SociaHive checks that the account can post there.
- Platform options. A platform's own settings, such as who can see the post.
- Articles. Article platforms take a title, a Markdown body, a canonical URL, a cover image and tags.
Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky and Pinterest keep their own options and need none of this. These parts are for Telegram channels, Discord, Slack, Mastodon, Lemmy, Tumblr, Dev.to, Hashnode, WordPress, Listmonk, Dribbble, Twitch and Kick.
In the composer
Pick the account, then fill in the card for that platform: choose a destination (or type one and press Verify), set its options, and for an article platform write the title and body. Schedule and Publish stay off until every required part is filled in; drafts always save.
API
Both need posts:read. The answer is { mode: "list" | "manual", destinations: [{ id, label }] }, cached for 5 minutes. A 409 reauth_required means the account must be reconnected.
On POST /api/v1/posts, put the chosen id in the target's metadata as destination_id, options under their own metadata keys, and article fields in platform_overrides.<platform> (title, body, canonical_url, cover_image, tags). The server checks all of them: a platform not available on your account is a 403 PLATFORM_UNAVAILABLE; a bad option, an unknown destination or article fields on a platform that takes no articles is a 400 with one message per target in targets.
